Iconic browsing history – Chrome plug-in

Sometimes I visit a site and likes its contents but then forgot to mark it in the favorite list so that I can visit again later. Have you ever been in such a situation. Well the Chrome extension ‘Iconic History’ has the solution.

Developed by a student from Carnegie Mellon University for her Interactive art and Computational Design course, this extension uses the favicon of the website and store it as a link to the visited page. No matter how may pages of a particular website you visited, the extension will store all the links.

A favicon is the small icon which you see it to the left of the website’s name on the address bar or at any listing. Iconic History uses these favicons and stores it for all the sites visited by the you in the past four months. It also segregates the list of favicons on the basis of date visited. Hovering the mouse over the favicon will tell you to the exact date and time the page was visited.

So, install this Chrome extension and forget to store a site’s page in your favorites.
