Remove post images from homepage – Genesis grid loop

 

Genesis Framework comes with a interesting feature of ‘Genesis Grid Loop’. You can change the look and feel of the Home page (post page) by tweaking the the Grid Loop code.

The Genesis Grid Loop code is given in the home.php file of your child theme.

To remove the images that appear with the post summary on the homepage modify the below parameter to ZERO –

‘grid_image_size’ => 0,

To get more then one post / articles on the top of the page modify the below parameter to a desired value –

‘features’ => 2,

To specify the number of character of the article to be shown modify the below parameter to a desired value –

`grid_content_limit` => 200

 

Understand the parameters

 

features – number of posts that will show at the top of the page (zero – will show the posts in 2 columns).

feature_image_size – size of the featured image in the features section to be shown (zero – will return no image).

feature_image_class – used to assign classes for features section styling.

feature_content_limit – specify the number of characters of the post to show in the features section (zero –  will return the full content).

grid_image_size – specify the size of the image in the grid section  (zero – will return nothing).

grid_image_class -used to assign the classes to the featured image in the grid section which can be further used for styling.

grid_content_limit – specify the number of characters of the post to shown on the grid section (zero – will return the post excerpt).

more – specify the text that is displayed when using the content limit option.

posts_per_page – specify how many posts to be displayed on the one page.
